Mommy's Note (September 23, 2005): It has been a great change of pace to be home with Brit full time. In just the past two weeks, we noticed quite a few developmental changes in him. He has been drooling a lot and biting on everything he can fit into his mouth. He started rolling over from his back to his stomach. I also noticed he is starting to recognize me and starts to look for me when I'm out of sight. Brit has been an awesome baby so far. He is now sleeping through the night, more or less (he sleeps for 8-12 hours but is not consistent yet). We really enjoy the little guy and his many, many changes. Let's hope he stays nice and sweet for the trip out to California next month. His gung-gung and popo are excited to see the little guy again. They have not seen him since he was a month old. Once again, we had a good visit at his well baby check-up. Brit is growing at a good clip (ranking in the 90th plus percentiles for height and weight). But he is not the biggest baby around town. We started attending a mom's luncheon every Tuesday at Manatee Memorial Hospital where he was born. There are some big babies in that group. Brit enjoys hanging out with his buddies. His mommy likes to talk to other new mommies. The mom's luncheon is a great place to meet other first time moms and compare notes.

Daddy's Note (September 21, 2005): Well it's been almost a month since my last update. Since I have a lot of time to make up I've posted 66 new pictures. That's more than two pictures per day of our hero - who turns 4 months old tomorrow. He's still a ginormous baby for his age. Banh and I will often walk around in a store and greet another couple with a baby. "How old is your baby?" "One year old", they will reply - and the baby is way smaller than Brit. So now I make fun of all the little micro-babies everyone else has! But seriously, I learned that baby size is not a predictor of adult size. Banh stopped growing in fifth grade. Up until that time she was taller than some of her peers. We'll see what happens with Brit. |
